Iron Pour | School of Art and Design | SIU

Please join the Sculpture Program at our Annual Fall Iron Pour and Casting Call Invitational Exhibition. Everyone is welcome to participate in creating a personalized scratch block to be cast during the event. You can purchase scratch blocks during the event to make your own piece of cast iron artwork. Your blocks will be poured at the event before your eyes and ready for you to take home that day. Several shapes and sizes will be available for sale at the Art Foundry.

Where: ART FOUNDRY COMPLEX at 1520-1560 West Pleasant Hill Rd.

Date: November 4, 2023, noon until done.

Throughout the day, Southern Illinois Printworks will be live printing and selling original scratch block printed T-shirts made exclusively on-site and prints.  In addition, the Ceramics area will be displaying and selling handmade ceramic cups and lighting up their handmade chimineas to test if they can take the heat. 

All events will end with the FallARTs grill out from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Art Foundry Complex. The sculpture program, Critical Forum, and the School of Art and Design host the grill out. Bring your lawn chairs, as all events
