Art Over Easy 2022

Art Over Easy is Back! The 2022 event will take place Friday, December 2nd at 7 p.m. at the Surplus Gallery, 432 S. Washington St, Carbondale, IL 62901. Art Over Easy is the annual art auction and show hosted by SIU Carbondale’s School of Art and Design.

The fundraising event is from 7–10 p.m. on Dec. 2nd at the Surplus Gallery, the main gallery in the Glove Factory. A unique display of art from local artists, talented faculty and graduate students will transform the gallery, while live music and refreshments will make the evening a fun event.

Reception, Music and Auctions

A special VIP reception, beginning at 7 p.m. will provide access to an exclusive artist reception with the faculty and artists who contributed to the event.

The event will also feature music from the SIU Music program, along with hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer from local vendors. Original artwork from faculty, students and community members will be part of the silent auction. This year, in lieu of a live auction, we will have live entertainment.

Tickets Available Now

Tickets are available at the door, or online. VIP tickets are $75, with doors opening at 7 p.m., while general admission tickets are $50, with doors opening at 8 p.m. All proceeds from the gala support the ongoing research and creative activity of talented current and former faculty and students, equipment upgrades, and facility needs of the School of Art and Design.

Contribute Artwork

For Community Artists and School of Art and Design alumni interested in donating work, we have scheduled our drop offs at the Surplus Gallery for your donation as follows: Tuesday, November 22 (3–5 p.m.) and Wednesday, November 23 (3–5 p.m.). Artists/Donors will also be required to submit a Gift-in-Kind Form with the donation. Work should reflect at least a $50+ value and you will receive one complimentary ticket to the event valued at $50. Forms will also be available at the drop off location.

Please be prepared to share a hi-resolution image of your work at the drop-off site, or you can send a digital file to our Office Manager, Heather Rapach at heatherher@siu.edu.
